This field was on the side of the road as we drove to Milford Sound. Another case of moody skies and breath taking scenery that caught my attention.
The rivers in New Zealand were always beautiful. The colours were bright and the sounds of birds filled the air. Another stop on the road to Milford Sound.
The view was astounding right from the get go. Capturing the sheer scale of this sound was tough, but if you look closely you can one of the boats that puts it all into perspective.
A better wide shot of the valley that get's carved out by massive glaciers of a bygone age. Deep and wide with water pouring in from the surrounding peaks.
You're probably noticing a theme by now. I have a uncontrollable interest in water and how it moves. I found this waterfall interesting because or how it spread out like shattered glass when it hit the sound's surface.
We had to backtrack a little because of how New Zealand roads wind around the mountains. Just outside of Arrowtown by Queenstown there's a pedestrian bridge on the Kawarau River. This is where (so I'm told) the bungee jump was pioneered.
