By the time I arrived in Melbourne I was exhausted and took some time to relax. My first big stop was the Mornington Peninsula to meet up with a friend I met in New Zealand. This is her home hiking spots and I was jealous. This is a two part post, more tomorrow.
Weird Trees
There will be more than few more weird trees on this journey. If you're not interested in trees, you may have my apologies now.
Old Pier
Apparently this little pier is almost always photographed when there's new visitors. I obliged!
Point Nepean
The spot we went for a hike used to be an old military installation. It's been left to the wildlife for quite some time though. This picture looks to the lighthouse across the bay.
Lookout
This was one of the old gun emplacements. The grass and animals had made this bunker their home.
Colours Out Beyond
Seriously, how is any water this colour. Surreal.
Getting Closer
The fort was starting to come into view at this point; the colours were still amazing. It started to become "the norm" at this point.
Inside the Tunnels
You can walk through all the old installations and see what's left. I couldn't resist the light in the hallway. Thanks Kristal! I think you're the only other person I photographed besides me on this trip.
