Enter Middle Earth

Hobbiton is located just outside of Rotorua in Matamata. This shot was what you see when your first walk into the small valley where they built the set. As you can see, green rolling hills abound.

Gardens for Sam

They have full time gardeners in Hobbiton, and it shows. A fitting tribute to Samwise Gamgee.

Party Tree

The Party Tree was massive, and out of all my pictures this one best showed the scale. Also a closer look at the small table with fake 'taters.

No Admittance

Loved this sign in the movies, and loved this sign in real life. Bilbo's home and the iconic green door of Bag End.

Green Hills

The light reflected off the green hills and I was in love. it's easy to see why this spot was chosen. A good find.

Green Dragon

Inside the Green Dragon Pub, where we got a chance to rest and drink in the social home of the hobbits. The resident cat was definitely sleepy.
