I was glad we drove up to the top of Mount Victoria, situated in the heart of Wellington. A gorgeous but windy day to enjoy before we caught the ferry to the south island.
The sand got everywhere. I was finding it in my shoes for days afterwards. It was however a brilliant view as I wandered the little area around my hotel. A perfect day in Nelson with brilliant fish and chips to top it off.
I have a deep fondness for reflections. This was my attempt to capture the serene quality of the park and the colours that reflected in the calm water.
I also love suspension bridges. They they're simultaneously thrilling, terrifying, and beautiful. I especially like how the bridge seems to disappear into the forest.
Birds are all over New Zealand and this little green and yellow fellow perfectly blended into the shrubs. Also, birds!
This was another quiet spot that captured my heart. The rain was coming down at this point, but that didn't take away from the serenity around me.
