I stopped in Waitomo to see the glowworm caves and go spelunking. I wasn't disappointed. The further I went underground the darker it got. Without the headlamps it was pitch black. The lights that the worms gave off looked like millions of stars in a night sky. Gorgeous.
This was the road to my hotel for the evening while I was in Waitomo. Was an enchanting scene and after a long day I treated myself to a fantastically expensive dinner.
The same road, but another picture I love. I must point out that in my room I found a surprising amount of bugs. All friendly, but indeed disconcerting.
I only had a few days left when I got back into Auckland. At this point I was exhausted and just looking to relax. The weather was too good to waste inside. Because of this I went back up Mount Eden to get a better image of the city.
I won't lie to you, Auckland I'm told is essentially surrounded by Volcanos. This didn't stop me from falling in love with its charms and I was more than happy to enjoy one last clear day.
It was my last day and I was determined to make the most out of my time. However, after getting the perfect weather (again) and rumours of snow back home. I decided to find a park and just enjoy the sun. This was my view.
