From Sydney I flew up to Brisbane where I'd spend the next few days walking an obscene amount and meeting friends. It was a good way to break up the previous few days where I was 99% alone.
Brisbane
The one thing I've had to learn how to do while travelling is trusting complete strangers with my SLR. This one turned out really well. Thanks stranger!
Mount Coot-Tha
I hadn't planned my first day in Brisbane at all. Luckily I had the foresight to rent a car. I drove up to Mount Coot-Tha for a view of the city; it also happened to have a great spot for lunch and paved pathways.
South Bank
I walked down the river to the Southbank later that day to get a better feeling for the city. The weather held out and I was lucky to meet a friend for dinner and drinks. Brisbane has some great food by the way.
Night Time
Brisbane has a deep fascination with putting lights on structures. This was before many of the bridges and buildings were fully lit up, but was a view I won't soon forget.
Brown Lake
The picture doesn't do it justice, because the sky was reflecting a lot more blue than I anticipated. This lake is stained brown because of all the Tea Trees that surround it.
Little Frog Friends
These small fellows were hard to photograph. They were however all over the place and so tiny and cute. Easy to miss if you didn't happen to take a closer look.
Bark Has Bite
I am very interested in tree bark. These trees looked like they shed a coat like a dog does in spring. Weird and wonderful.
