The magic of Disney parks is real, because throughout this whole day I forgot I was in Japan. It was a fantastic day and at the end I wished I had one more time to visit their version of the Magic Kingdom.
I was absolutely beat by the end of the day and was full of experiences I won’t soon forget!
I will be back.
Cape Cod
I have never been to Cape Cod, but in a way, I think I have. So I’ll take it!
A House of Light
The Cape Cod section was filled with stores and displays dedicated to local heroes, Duffy and Shellie Mae. AKA, the characters that are huge in Japan and are super cute. I forgot to take pictures of them.
Back to the Tower
I wanted to take more photos from the waterfront, so I made my back down to the Tower of Terror to scope out any details I missed the first time.
Architecture, I Hardly Know Her
I found the Tower of Terror itself incredibly fascinating to look at. There was a ton of broken windows and in the que to get on the ride had an elevator that was styled to look like it plummeted from the top floor. It was carnage.
No Entry!
This was all for show, I definitely entered (because I was allowed to).
It Was A Que All Along
People were lining up behind this sign. While I appreciate the nod to set decoration, I found it funny in context of all the people in the background.
Looking Down Main Street
I came down here to take a break from the heat and grab a snack. There was tons of shopping and I was on a hunt for something unique.
Hello Mr. Gondola Man
Turns out when you have your portrait lens out and a photogenic man comes into view, it’s well worth the shot!
More Blossoms
I took so many pictures of the fig blossoms. They were everywhere and so pretty!
Snack Time, Or Beer Time?
Instead of only a snack, I had a snack and a beer. It was a great and much needed break. I was up early that morning and the heat was killer! It had been a long day and I still had a ton to explore.
More Detail
Since I was already here for a beer, I took the chance to take more character shots of the recreation of 1900s New York. I was in love with it.
Pixar Event, Clearly
If you couldn’t tell by the giant ball outside of the Tower of Terror in an earlier photo, there was a big Pixar event happening.
Without Me, In the Day
I was clearly in exploration mode, so I went back to snag a photo that was sans myself.
Under the Sea
I was hot, and tired. Which means it’s time to see some shows! This one was pretty cool because Ariel was flying around the theatre on a harness while she belted out all the hits. Hard to go wrong!
Inside Agrabah
I really enjoyed this lamp because I felt it showed the look of the Arabian Coast. It was a massive area and the Sindbad dark ride was a surprising highlight.
Two for the Price of One
A double decker carousel, how could I not ride it on the top level?
Night Mode, Go!
I loved my day at the park and I luckily had some time before my reservation for the restaurant. So I decided to take some night shots of the park, because it’s intoxicatingly gorgeous at night.
Across to the Entrance
This looks across to the entrance, where you can see a bit of Italy and the American Waterfront.
Electric Train
This was on the bridge that goes from the American Waterfront to Port Discovery. I took this while on my way to get a fast pass for Nemo.
Getting Hungry
I was clearly hovering around the restaurant, hoping that time would pass so that I could eat. It was located in the castle across the water.
New York at Night
People looked at me funny while I tried to get this. I was perched precariously on a bench trying to sneak in a bit more height. I gave up and set up my little gorilla pod on a railing that did the job!
Big Beats
This was apparently the most popular show in the park. For these shows, there’s a lottery you can enter to try to guarantee a seat. I didn’t win and I didn’t want to wait. So this was the closest I got to seeing the show.
Venice at Night
I took so many pictures of Venice because I was having troubles capturing how gorgeous it looked. This was the closest I got, because the colours really popped in the light.
In the Heart of the Restaurant
I decided to treat myself as a way to spend some time before the final show of the night. Magellan’s is the fancy place at DisneySea, and I had a multiple course, amazing meal. It also was 100% not cheap, but well worth it!
The Dragon's Wings are Fire
Just thought you’d like to know really. There’s a big dragon in the final show that Mickey fights and it’s enthralling. I loved it.
Much Fire, Almost the End
There were so many fireworks. Mickey was going a bit nuts, a real show off.
No More Shopping
I decided not to shop because I was tired and had a super early morning the next day. I was properly exhausted, and incredibly sad to leave. DisneySea is nothing short of magnificent, and I loved every minute of it.
