We arrived fairly late in the day at Lake Ohau, but still had enough time to go down to the water and enjoy the last few moments of sun.
A few weeks before I left to go to New Zealand I had an unforgettable night under the stars. It was that night I fell in love with the night sky. Shortly after my group arrived at Ohau, I realized the location was a dark sky preserve and I needed to spend all night with nothing but the stars to guide me.
I was supposed to be at breakfast, but I had a hunch the lake would be special in the morning. It was a clear sky and I woke up with the sunrise. Beautiful colours and a calm surface for reflections.
The tallest mountain in New Zealand. Was quite the sight to be able to see it. I would genuinely like to climb it some day, but that may be crazy talk.
Between the beautiful soft lighting and the forlorn sheep in the perfect spot. This is another one of my favourites.
He was dubbed Little Swingers by our bus driver. If it's not clear, the name is in regards to his swinging genitalia. He took after his father, Big Swingers.
